Dwyer is an unincorporated community in Grant County, New Mexico, United States. It is located southeast of Silver City, along the Mimbres River, and on NM 61. The Robert and Concetta Dwyer Arena houses two ice surfaces, (both 200 x 85 ft.) a starbucks, and a pro shop on Niagara University's campus in Lewiston, New York, United States. The main rink can seat up to 1,400 people and is the home to the Niagara Purple Eagles men's ice hockey team, which plays in the Atlantic Hockey America conference of college hockey. The arena was formerly home to the women's ice hockey team, which played in College Hockey America. The building was built in 1996. Prior to the 1999–2000 season, major renovation took place as a result of a gift by Bob and Connie Dwyer, both 1965 graduates, who contributed $3 million for facilities upgrades. Dwyer Hill Road ( Ottawa Road #3) is the longest road within the municipal jurisdiction of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The road runs parallel to the city's western border at a distance of about 3-4 kilometres from it. The road runs from the community of Burritts Rapids on the Rideau River north to the city's limits with the town of Arnprior. On its way, it passes through the communities of Dwyer Hill and Panmure. Dwyer Brothers Stable
Dwyer Brothers Stable was an American thoroughbred horse racing operation owned by Brooklyn businessmen Phil and Mike Dwyer. The Dwyer brothers hired trainer Evert Snedecker and purchased their first Thoroughbred, Rhadamanthus, in 1874. In October of that same year they acquired Vigil from Col. David McDaniel who to that point had earned $5630. In the ensuing few months of 1876 the colt won another $20,160 and was chosen that year's retrospective American Champion Three-Year-Old Male Horse. Other trainers who worked for the Dwyers were James G. Rowe Sr. and Frank McCabe. The Dwyers won the 1881 Kentucky Derby with future U.S. Hall of Fame colt Hindoo and finished second with Runnymede the following year. However, they had their greatest racing success in the Belmont Stakes in their hometown, winning the classic event five times. Dwyer Stadium is a 2,600 capacity stadium in Batavia, New York, situated in Genesee County. It opened in 1996 replacing the original stadium that was built in 1937, while the playing field is the original. The stadium is currently home to the Batavia Muckdogs of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, a collegiate summer baseball league; the Genesee Community College Cougars of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA); and high school teams including the Notre Dame of Batavia Fighting Irish and Batavia Blue Devils. The Dwyer Stakes is an American Grade III stakes race for three-year-old thoroughbred racehorses held annually at Belmont Park racetrack in Elmont, Long Island, New York. Run in early July, it is open to three-year-old horses and is raced over a distance of 1 mile on dirt. It currently offers a purse of $500,000. Inaugurated in 1887 as the Brooklyn Derby at the now defunct Gravesend Race Track on Coney Island, in 1918 it was renamed for the Dwyer brothers, Mike & Phil, who dominated thoroughbred racing in the late 19th century.
